Beekeeping equipment was displayed and explained.  Equipment included basic hobbyist level essentials: 2-frame extractor, smoker, full bee suit, hat, veil, gloves, bee brush, and uncapping knife.  Items displayed were the observation hive, empty queen cage, beeswax, empty wax comb, comb honey and bottled honey.

A child-safe, bee-tight, single frame, non-tipping, observation hive with unbreakable Plexiglas and tight-fitting cover bolted in place was used to display the frame of bees.  The frame contained larvae, capped brood, pollen deposits, nectar, and capped honey cells... plus busy bees of course

Thanks to John and Cameron's parents (Paul and Lori) and others for providing the photos for this website.  Thanks to Paul for helping the students with the "hands on" of equipment (extractor, bee suit, etc.). Thanks to Lori for her help and for dispensing the honey onto the crackers.  Thanks to teachers and the school for inviting Old Man Riggs (John and Cameron's grandpa "Honey Bee Man") to the classroom
